Hi there! We’re Meg and Rich!
We live in South Florida with our 6 kids. We have a love for all things thrifted, vintage, handcrafted, and DIY.
How we began
We started our vintage and handcrafted business in 2016, selling handcrafted furniture and vintage finds at local outdoor markets. Since then we’ve renovated a 1967 Westwind camper that we use as a mobile boutique. We now travel the Southeast selling at various upscale vintage markets.
We have also cohosted two local Barn Sales in Southeast Florida. We are passionate about family, and bringing joy to people. Sharing stories, memories, sentimental items, and friendship has always driven us in our adventures in life.
How we came up with our name
The name Ruffles & Overalls was inspired by our kids. It has also grown to represent Rich and I as I love ruffles and all things girly and he prefers to wear overalls when he is building in the shop. Our name has also been a way for us to express our passion. Ruffles & Overalls has always represented hard work, craft, simple living, joy, friendship, creativity, and connecting with our neighbors. To us it represents strength, simplicity, and character deeply rooted in our country’s past.
Lifestyle
We homeschool our kids and travel a lot as a family. We love to visit new places, meet new people, and collect vintage treasures along the way. Our favorite place we visit often is Tennessee. Even though being Florida natives, I grew up in Wellington, FL and Rich is from Titusville, FL, we long to have a place in the country. It is our dream to own land and restore a historic farmhouse to share with friends and family.
Meet Meg
Since I was a little girl, the one thing I knew I wanted to be when I grew up was a mom. My dreams definitely came true! Up until our sixth child was born, I was a stay-at-home mom. I loved spending my time being with our kids, homeschooling, cooking, and making our house a home. I never expected that I would end up becoming a small business owner one day, but I love it! Rich and I make such a great team and we balance each other out so well. We’re so blessed to be able to work together from home as we grow our family.
I love to go thrifting and antiquing. I like to draw, paint, and sew. I also love to dream up new ideas and projects.
Meet Rich
Hey ya’ll! I’m Rich! As a kid I always enjoyed building things with my grandfather, father, and brothers. This past time lead me to want to be a craftsman, and use it to create pieces for people to enjoy in there homes. To be passed down through the generations, and for people to share their stories that are attached to them. This idea lead me to become interested in vintage and antique treasures. That we could bring back a memory to someone through a family heirloom. Hear a tale about a family member that brought you to laugh and some that may have caused some tears of joy. The joy of the hunt is what I like to call it. I’ll dig in the deepest and darkest places sometimes without hesitation, but always with the deepest respect for the people who have opened their doors and hearts to me. My passion has always been to grow, share, and give.
Some things you may not know about us
We’re college sweethearts.
We’re Harry Potter fans.
Our favorite trip of the year is the first week of August when travel to Kentucky and Tennessee for the 127 Yard Sale and my parents watch the kids back at home for the week.
All of our kids names have a “v” in them. It started out unintentionally, but ended up becoming a trend. By the time baby number 6 came around, it was kind of hard to choose a name.
All of our kids are blonde, but our youngest is a red head.
